RoundCube Webmail Local User Password Change Plug-in

February 12, 2007 – This is an updated release of the plug-in which includes changing of use of the crypt function (security update) and other minor non-critical typos and enhancements. Please note that for the install, the conf file is located in a different location and is documented in the README.

November 25, 2006 – This is an updated second release of this plug-in for RoundCube. Updates in this release include some security fixes in the code for possible (but unlikely) overflows. It also has other minor enhancements and includes small modifications for RoundCube.

It is recommended you uninstall the prior version by running “Make Uninstall” in the prior installation directory as some of the directories have changed. All else remains the same.

September 22, 2006 – This is the first release of this plug-in for RoundCube which provides the functionality for local users to change their passwords (which are stored in /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow). It REQUIRES the installation of chetcpasswd.cgi which must be compiled and installed on the host server. The patch for RC is an easy one-line edit to the code. The patch adds an additional tab in the “Preferences” area called Password. This tab will pop up a new window with the password changing utility.

Please be sure to read the README file which details installation and configuration options which need to be set.
