Numerous actions are taken on emails including using multiple RBL lists, DNS lookups, heuristic identification, Bayes database identification and up to date common rulesets. The results are a dramatic reduction of incoming spam which otherwise takes up your bandwidth, server storage, staff productivity and risk of scams.

Phishing Fraud: Current spam/virus engines also work to identify emails which have inconsistent or mismatched data and links in them, often indicators of so called "Phishing Fraud" attempts - emails used to defraud users out of confidential personal information or credit card info.
